The Sands Township Planning Commission will hold a special meeting at 6:30 PM on December 15, 2020, at the Sands Township Office Complex to hear and accept public comments on a Special Use Permit Application for Superior Solar Project, LLC which is proposing to develop a Solar Energy System, Level 3 known as the Superior Solar Project in Sections 28-30 and Sections 19-21, T47N-R25W, Township of Sands. If approved, the project expects to be online in 2 to 3 years. The meeting may be recessed in accordance with MCL § 15.265.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions the meeting room will not be open to the public. Electronic remote access, in accordance with Michigan law, will be implemented in response to COVID-19 social distancing requirements and limitations on indoor meeting attendees. Members of the public will be able to speak during the public comment portion of the meeting and such comments will be limited to three minutes per person. To provide for orderly public participation a person wishing to speak must state their name and request to be recognized by the Planning Commission Chairperson. The Chairperson will recognize all persons wishing to speak during the public comment portion of the meeting.
